The Cebuano language is an Austronesian language spoken by many people in Philippines and it has a close relation with other Filipino languages. Even if the language was not formally taught in schools and universities till 2012, it has the largest native language speaking population in Philippines. Cebuano has different names in some of its dialects. The language in its ancient form has a long history which can be traced back to 6000 years. The language was largely influenced by Spanish language which is also a result of colonialism. Many loanwords from Spanish language is found. In fact, the Spaniards increased the number of vowels in the initial language from three to five. The dialect varies depending on the place where it is spoken.
