Armenian is an Indo-European languages spoken by the Armenians.  It is the official language of Armenia as well as Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. Initially this language was spoken in Armenian highlands, but today entire Armenian diaspora has people speaking Armenian language. It has its unique script, the Armenian alphabet. It is an independent branch and has evolved to have distinctive phonological developments because of the interests of the linguists. Since up to 2^nd century BC, Armenia was a monolingual country, it has a long literary history. The language has travelled a long journey and an effort to modernize the language was done during 11^th – 14^th centuries. Addition of characters were made without making immense changes to the grammar or morphology of Armenian language.
